<\/center>On International Women’s Day, we want to pay tribute to all the women worldwide who are working hard to improve the lives of those living with HIV, to halt the spread of the virus – and to raise awareness and reduce the stigma that still surrounds the condition.<\/p>\n

Women are often in a unique and important position in their communities to change behaviours and minds alike, and internationally women are therefore at the very forefront of the fight against HIV.<\/p>\n

Equally, social assumptions can increase a woman’s likelihood of contracting HIV. Worldwide, young women and adolescent girls in particular, account for a disproportionate number of new HIV infections among young people living with HIV.<\/p>\n

That’s why we’re particularly proud of our women ambassadors here at Saving Lives.<\/p>\n

From women living with HIV and speaking up about their experiences to sportswomen and musicians using their prominence to raise awareness about HIV.<\/p>\n

International Women’s Day is an important moment to acknowledge the work and contribution of women – and demand that we continue to commit to improving their lives.<\/p>\n

At Saving Lives, we – and our ambassadors – will continue to do both.
